The latest Irish Govt publication “Roadmap for Pensions Reform” published in Feb 2018, explains the intention to have auto enrolment for workers over age 23 with salaries over 20,000 no later than 2022. Other ongoing changes surround the move away from employers acting as trustees due to the onerous trustee obligations, and more flexibility around retirement ages, make this an ever-changing landscape. Businesses which have been operating cross border may seek to have a presence in Ireland post Brexit negotiations, making them subject to the regulatory pension requirements in both jurisdictions.
Aspects Financial are one of the few UK regulated Advisors with a real, on the ground, Irish presence. This is critical as it allows us to meet regularly with Irish providers to stay on top of legislative and industry developments. Aspects have UK and RoI pension scheme experience and in particular are one of the only advisors operating in Ireland with auto enrolment experience, gained in the UK, having set up over 300 schemes with large, medium, and small employers there to date.
Aspects Financial have access to the best pricing in the market due to strong relationships and business flows. Existing scheme charges will be analysed in full to ensure that any recommendation to switch provider is based on a thorough analysis and client centric recommendation. Fund performance from all providers will be analysed and a recommendation made based on performance, investment process, de-risking / lifestyling strategy and fund charges.
This is an area of ongoing development, where we are well positioned to use our experience, market position, cross-jurisdiction authorisations, and area of employee benefits specialisation to provide clear concise to businesses as always.
